Precision is a Woman-Owned Small Business that provides custom
manufacturing of ultra-precision components and assemblies in
glass, ceramic and metal materials. We excel in
tight-tolerance, complex geometry parts and have 5-axis CNC
machining capability. We run prototype quantities of one to
production quantities of thousands. We are ISO 9001:2008
certified, ITAR registered and pursuing our AS9100 revision C
certification.

We are a full-service machine shop with a variety of CNC milling and turning centers along with surface grinders, centerless grinders and OD/ID grinders. Alongside our many precision CNC and manual machining centers we also have a High-Precision Machining Lab, temperature controlled to 68°±1°F. This lab is equipped with 2 state-of-the art Hermle 5-axis machining centers with on-board Renishaw CMM part probing, Blum Laser Tool Setting, and EROWA palletized tooling systems. We also have a ZEISS Contura G2 CNC CMM with a scanning-style probe head for inspection support.
Our Inspection Department is comprised of an additional Zeiss Contura G2 CNC CMM, a Tesa Micro-Hite 3D
CMM, mulitple RAM Optical Instrumentation machines and various other inspection tools. We also have a Zygo GPI Interferometer for our optical metrology.
We have a full Lapping and Polishing Department where we do both spherical and plano polishing. We also have Glass Blowing and Laser Engraving capabilities.
 We have a Class 10,000 Cleanroom on-site, which contains laminar flow booths for further particle filtration. Packaging of some of our more critical components and fabrication of sensitive assemblies are performed here. We also have an
ESD-controlled assembly lab where sub-assemblies and full assemblies that involve electronic components are assembled by certified solderers.
We are currently building a Miniaturized Double-Latching Solenoid Valve, also known as the Micro Valve for NASA-GSFC in support of both the MSL-SAM and MAVEN missions. This is an assembly that was designed in-house at NASA-GSFC and then offered as a commercialization opportunity for the private market through the Innovative Partnership Program at NASA. Mindrum won the license for the sole right to build these valves commercially and is in the process of not only building it directly for NASA-GSFC, but also preparing it for release in the commercial market.
We also have a license in place with a private company to build Range-Finding OEM Laser Modules for the commercial market. Our licensor,
Measurement Devices Ltd, is a leader in the laser measurement field and the specific module we license is a perfect fit in the laser altimetry market. We sell various customized configurations to the UAV market for both fixed wing and rotorcraft as well as for manned aircraft. |
